Thankfulness: The world
What do you think is the biggest thing God created?
Can you think of the smallest thing that God created?
What is your favourite part of the world God created and why?
What a beautiful world!
We live in such a big and beautiful world! I wonder when was the last time you went outside and looked closely at God's creation?
Genesis chapter 1 tells us all about how God created the heavens and the earth. At the end of every day, he looked at what he had made, and he saw that it was good.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God saw all that he had made and it was very good.
Genesis 1:1, 31
Sadly the world has been spoilt a bit since God made it, but there are still lots of amazing and wonderful things to discover. God wants us to enjoy the world he has made, but we need to look closely to make sure we don't miss anything.
Have you ever tried looking up at the sky when it's dark to see how many stars there are?
Have you ever looked at the pretty patterns on the leaves in the park?
Have you ever felt the smoothness of a conker and the bumpiness of a pine cone?
God made all of these things, and so much more! When we look closely, it's amazing the wonders we can see in God's creation.
Look around you this week and try to spot five things that God has made, and thank God for them.
Look out of the window as you open the curtains each morning and thank God for the wonderful world he has made.
Dear God, thank you for the wonderful world you have created. Please help me to notice and appreciate all of the big and small things that you have made. Amen.
