Have you ever done something really difficult?
In this week's story, Moses didn't want to do what God told him to do. God told him to go and see Pharoah and rescue the Israelites, but Moses didn't want to go. He was scared and made up lots of reasons why it was too hard for him to go.
"So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
And God said, “I will be with you."
Sometimes we have to do things that are really hard, or that we don't want to do. What have you had to do this week that you didn't want to do?
God listened to Moses' excuses, and said that he would help him. He promised to be with Moses and he taught him how to do some amazing miracles to help as well. Why not try reading a bit more about the story of Moses in a children's Bible.
Sometimes we have to do things that are hard. But the good news is that there are lots of people who can help us, and best of all, God can help us! What do you think God looks like? Draw a picture of God helping you with something difficult. Put the picture somewhere you can see it every day. Every time you look at the picture, remember that God is with you.
Dear God, Thank you that you are always with me. Please help me with the things I struggle with. Amen.
